Empowering Local Talent through Digital Advertising
The 7th Hong Kong Digital Advertising Start-ups X Publishing (Writers) Promotion Support Scheme, a dynamic initiative launched by the Hong Kong Association of Interactive Marketing (AIM) and backed by the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency (CCIDA), continues to play a pivotal role in nurturing local digital advertising talent. By providing funding and professional training, this ongoing program, which began in 2018, not only supports emerging digital start-ups but also champions local writers trying to make their mark in the literary world.
Cultivating Creativity: A Unique Partnership
This year, twelve talented teams have participated, with each being paired with a local writer whose debut work was released in the past six years. This pairing allows the budding advertising teams to create unique promotional campaigns tailored specifically for their authors. Through a span of about three months, each team received as much as HK$260,000 in funding to develop their projects while participating in mentorship programs aimed at enhancing both creativity and execution quality.
Celebrating Excellence in Advertising
The culmination of this collaboration was celebrated at the recent Digital Advertising Design Awards Ceremony. This year’s event was graced by the presence of prominent figures such as Mr. Alex So, the Head of Multimedia at CCIDA, and Mr. Stanley Chow, Vice Chairman of AIM. They publicly commended the talent exhibited by the participating teams, emphasizing the significant impact the scheme has on fostering innovation within the realms of digital marketing and publishing.
The Value of Cross-Sector Collaboration
This program stands as a model of effective cross-sector collaboration in Hong Kong, bridging the gap between digital advertising and publishing. Not only does it enhance exposure for local authors, but it cultivates a community of creativity that enriches Hong Kong's cultural landscape. As each cohort continues to exceed expectations, this initiative makes significant strides toward promoting reading culture among the public, showcasing the power of creativity and innovation.
Future Insights: The Next Chapter
Looking ahead, the potential for further development through this initiative seems bright. As the demand for innovative digital marketing strategies continues to rise, programs like the Support Scheme are likely to inspire greater collaborations and expansion within the industries. By equipping local advertising start-ups with the right tools and training, they can continue to create memorable campaigns that resonate with audiences, ultimately advancing both local literary talent and the digital advertising landscape.
